When the universe was framed and the sun, the moon and stars were set in place and motion by a single spoken Word, one star in particular drew the attention of the heavenly myriads. Being neither the brightest nor the first among the twinkling ones it was meant to rejoice in its assigned situation. As a reliable witness to those on earth this star still silently proclaims that its humble place at the foot of the Northern Cross graciously uplifted it to be the Swan’s head: Beta Cygnus.

During some further investigation I discovered that Beta Cygnus actually consists of two seperate stars (but seems one when viewed with the naked eye); Albireo A and Albireo B. By the way, Albireo A itself consists of two stars orbiting around their common center of mass, so there is actually three of them...! Perhaps this has nothing to do with your poem... But I`m always impressed when realizing that the universe is even bigger and more complicated than it seems to us, humble human beings. Just imagine the greatness of its Creator... It`s beyond our imagination...

Well, yeah, I knew most of what you discovered. It adds to the intricacy of the meaning, when taking into account that we, as humans, are tri-une beings (spirit, soul and body). =) Thanks! =)

Beta Cygnus is de tweede (helderheid) ster van het sterrenbeeld Zwaan, dat ook de lay out heeft van het kruis. =)
